ABOUT US

PictureThe Name - Namaste
Wikipedia translation: Namasté is a South-Asian greeting originating in India, which is used when both hello and goodbye would be used in English. The meaning is quite different however. The Sanskrit nama means "bow, obeisance, reverential salutation, adoration". te is the dative of the personal pronoun, "you". Combined it's a literal translation of "reverential salutation to you." It is commonly accompanied by a slight bow made with the hands pressed together, palms touching, in front of the chest. In a religious context this word can be taken to mean any of these:

*The Spirit in me meets the same Spirit in you.
*I greet that place where you and I are one.
*I salute the light of God in you.
*I bow to the divine in you.
*My higher energy salutes your higher energy.

In other words, it recognises the equality of all, and pays honour to the sacredness and interconnection of all. Perfect for what Namaste Soul Prive Trading CC is all about.

PictureThe Symbol - The Triquetra
Wikipedia information on the Triquetra: a word derived from the Latin tri- ("three") and quetrus ("cornered"). Its original meaning was simply “triangle” and it has been used to refer to various three-cornered shapes. Nowadays, it has come to refer exclusively to a certain more complicated shape formed of three vesicae piscis (the fish), sometimes with an added circle in or around it. The triquetra has been found on runestones in Northern Europe and also on early Scandinavian coins. It presumably had Pagan religious meanings, and it bears a resemblance to the Odin Knot or Valknut. Some have suggested that, like the Valknut, Triquetrae may have been a symbol of Odin. While it is uncertain what the symbol may have meant to the Celts, it is often found as a design element in larger drawings of triskeles or triple spirals.

The symbol was later used by Christians as a symbol of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). This appropriation was particularly easy because the Triquetra conveniently incorporated three shapes that could be interpreted as Christian fish symbols. It is the interlaced form of the plain Triquetra is a trefoil knot.

The symbol has become especially popular due to its use on the cover of the “Book of Shadows” used by the three sisters on the American TV show, Charmed, as a door between worlds. It is also one of the four symbols on the cover of a Led Zeppelin album. The band “Payable on death” also uses this symbol on most of their CD covers. The Triquetra was formerly used as a symbol on new King James version Bibles published by Thomas Nelson Inc. but was later replaced due to complaints regarding the symbol's connections to Paganism. The symbol is also seen on the cover of a Dungeons & Dragons game. Pagans used and use the Triquetra to symbolise a variety of personal and traditional beliefs to symbolise their faith and generally believe it is of Norse and Germanic origins. It is also used to represent one of the various Triplicities in their cosmology and theology (such as the tripartite division of the world into the realms of land, sea and sky), or as a symbol of one of the specific triple Goddesses, most notably Maiden, Mother and Crone or the triplicities of what we like to think of namaste, being mind, body, and soul.

Which brings us to why we chose this as our symbol: It is an original design made up of the typical Triquetra (in black) and the red detail is our secret – known by few. Because Namaste is a soul site, we love that it has roots in a few life paths, leaving little room to offend anyone.  We also love that it represents everything in our own lives, which is multiples of 3, you’ll soon see, everything is 3! The Namaste Triquetra, for us, shows that the Universe works in threes and that there is usually a balance in threes, that there are always 3 sides to a story, what you think, what they think and what really happened. You, your partner and your children, or you, friends and family - Everywhere you look, you find 3!

The red and black image above is the original Namaste logo and is very near and dear to the Namaste family, so when we were growing and changing and moulding to the rest of the world, it was important for us to keep the Triquetra in the process.

PictureThe Symbol - The Lips
The lips are a symbol of communication. They are the outlet to tell the outside world what we have and are thinking inside of us. Namaste does just that for you too. You tell us what you want and we make it for you in living colour!

The Namaste Symbol: The Colour
Namaste relishes in the land of colour. Colour is so powerful and has the ability to change moods and create impressions - everyone should live their lives in colour!
