Frontier Fly Fishing is the brainchild of two avid fly-fishermen, Dean Riphagen and Tom Lewin. The company was formed in 2002 with the express vision of shaking up the South African fly fishing market and bringing a new generation of fly-shop to the local market. Since 2002 Frontier Fly Fishing has grown into much more than a stand-alone retail fly-shop – it has evolved into three separate businesses comprising a retail (Frontier Fly Fishing), wholesale (Frontier Distribution) and guiding operation. Since 2002 Frontier Fly Fishing’s retail and wholesale operations have grown to become the largest of their kind in South Africa. The company is the sole distributor of almost every major American fly-fishing brand, including Sage, Abel, Simms and Scientific Anglers, to name a few.
