THERAPIES

Our highly qualified and experienced Physiotherapists offer first class individualised treatment for a wide range of physical and stress related ailments in order to improve the quality of your life. Whether you require pain relief, rehabilitation from injuries or ailments, or relaxation therapies, Joanne Enslin & associates can help. Common conditions we treat include:

Sports injuries   Sports Injuries
We treat a wide variety of sports related injuries and conditions such as tennis golfers elbow, Achilles tendon problems, knee meniscus tears, and general overuse problems in various regions of the body such as the shoulders and hips. Rehabilitation is provided from injuries such as post fracture surgery, ligament damage and muscular tears. Most sports injuries result from muscle and biomechanical imbalances. Assessing the cause of the injury is important for corrective treatment and rehabilitation.

Back pain   Back Pain
This includes joint, ligament and muscular strains, and symptoms associated with disc problems and wear & tear (osteoarthritis). The dynamic interaction of spine, pelvis hips and extremities needs to be assessed. Imbalances can result in a wide range of problems including lower back pain, mimic disc disease, headaches, hip pain and groin pain. Treatment to the cause of the condition as well as the injury is required. Corrective postural exercises are required for long term maintenance.

Headaches   Headaches and Neck Pain
Headaches and neck pain are often caused by stress and tension, especially in those sitting at a desk or in a car for long periods of time. Whiplash, disc problems and wear & tear are also common causes of pain in this area. Trapped nerves (arm pain) can be the result of direct pressure on nerves from the spine due to a disc bulge, muscular tension, inflammation or degenerative changes.

Orthopaedic   Orthopaedic Conditions
Painful knees and shoulders, ankle injuries, arthritic joints, ligament and cartilage tears may be a result of joint restrictions, joint instability, muscle imbalances, or due to trauma. Assessing biomechanical imbalances throughout the body is required . Treatment includes pre- and post-operative rehabilitation of joints, rehabilitation of painful knees and shoulders using the McConnell method of taping and biofeedback training, and specific correction of joint dysfunctions using manual therapy techniques.

Craniosacral   CranioSacral Therapy (babies and children)
This treatment can be very effective for glue-ear, irritability, continual crying, feeding problems, colic, ADD, ADHD and cerebral palsy.
