Key Success Factors To Running a Restaurant
Many will tell you how to succeed at running a Restaurant, as will I.  I believe that in this changing market place you need to keep your eye on three variables. Turnover, Cost of Sales and Website Traffic.  If your turnover is dropping so too are your referrals, bookings or feet through the door. If your cost of sales varies it could be a good or bad thing. Taking food, food quality, preparation time (energy utilisation) and more off will decrease costs with the result that turnover drops due to poor meals and poor reviews. People shop around, and referrals check your website before visiting. A change in the average number of hits on your website indicates the ongoing success of your referral marketing or other campaigns designed to drive traffic to your website.

Popular restaurants have the turnover to fund the little extras that make a difference and it allows them to offer specials that grab attention and attract new diners. The toughest competitor for any restaurant is itself.  In other words, frequent customers have set standards based on established expectations that require consistent dining experiences.

Coupons can be used to attract new diners, loyalty programmes will retain customers and referral programs will grow audiences. We are specialists at these; note that they rely on frequent feedback from diners, on their most recent dining experience.

While tasty meals are a given, so too are service, food warmth, speed of preparation/presentation, table/seating comfort, entertainment, ambience, value and more.
