The Prize

Valued at about R10,000 - this prize may be gifted to a friend.

The prize is for your accommodation for a customer and friends at Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Reserve as detailed below in a 4 Bedroom, 8 Sleeper Chalet as well as for the accommodation of your pets at Waterfall Kennels and Cattery for the period indicated. Note that it does not include other charges for food, beverages, goods, services and facility usage.

Bourkes's Luck Potholes

Take a stroll to view these amazingly shaped and coloured potholes carved by nature, from a number of vantage points and bridges that criss-cross some of the most beautiful formations, followed by a visit to the interesting onsite Visitors Centre.

Blyde River Canyon

The Blyde River Canyon is the second largest canyon in Africa, showcasing magnificent panoramas, jagged peaks and views over the escarpment, visible from viewpoints such as God's Window, where on a clear day, you can see as far as Kruger Park and Mozambique.

Lisbon Falls

Lisbon Falls is one of Mpumalanga's most dramatic waterfalls, located at the site where the Lisbon River splits into three streams cascading down the rock face for 94 metres. Some of the other waterfalls in the area include the Mac Mac Falls and Berlin Falls.

Waterval Boven

The village of Waterval Boven is filled with historical sites and buildings, such as the old ZASM Five Arch Bridge and Tunnel with views of Elands River Waterfall, as well as President Paul Kruger's official 1900 residence before he went into exile in Europe.

If you would like to dine out, Dullstroom is within easy reach where you could spend an afternoon browsing speciality, arts and crafts shops plus you could get more fishing advise than most would need to land a trout or two.

Take the N4 to Witbank (please note this is the toll road to Nelspruit), then N4 towards Belfast. Turn right at the (R33) Carolina turn-off before Belfast at Wonderfontein. In Carolina at the 4-way stop (MBT Garage on left hand side), turn left onto the R36 towards Machadodorp. After approximately 23km, turn right at Doornkop turn-off. Follow the gravel road for 9km into Doornkop. Reception will beon your left hand side. In inclement weather use alternative route 58; In Carolina at the 4-way stop (MBT Garage on left hand side), turn left onto the R36 toward Machadodorp. After 5km, turn right at Kalkkloof turn-off (this is a gravel road). Follow the road for approximately 14km until you reach the Doornkop sign on the left hand side. Turn left at the Doornkop turn-off. Follow the road for another 4km into Doornkop. After 3km, reception will be on your right hand side. Late arrival access by prior arrangement only.
