To create local and niche online marketplaces that grow local business brands by enabling them to trade online affordably and brilliantly. 
 
We call them Loco and Nook Marketplaces. The reason being that they Go Local with Crazy Deals and Specials or they Go Big in a Small Corner of the Marketplace. 
 
Businesses can sell on big discounters, wholesalers, and classified sites. It follows the trend of owning the customer and the checkout process but having suppliers hold and own the stock. [ Uber has no taxis, and Airbnb has no buildings, which illustrates the same concept, but in the latter case, they outsource the capital investment (home) as well as the stock (bacon & eggs).] Generally, the world over, marketplace suppliers do not trade in their names and are thus relatively "hidden" and do not build customer loyalty or relationships. The result is that they run the risk of delisting, causing the collapse of their businesses.  It is a sound business strategy for small companies to develop multiple income streams to dilute their risk profiles. 
 
On a Webo Marketplace, suppliers trade in their names. In the Checkout, buyers check out for each supplier, and the buyers pay the supplier, in most cases, directly.  The supplier needs an online payment gateway to be paid online, and we will assist in the "How To." 
 
The difference between other Marketplaces and Webo Loco Markets is that we focus on Deals (25%+ Off) and Specials  (24%- Off) versus having thousands of products on the market. Where a supplier wants to list thousands of products, we will offer each supplier an eCommerce store where they will trade in their name. Every product in the store will be linked to the Webo Directory as a Classified, and the store will be linked to the Loco Marketplace. Another difference discussed above is that the supplier gets paid immediately vs. one or more months later. There are no listing fees, handling fees or stock holding fees. Every buyer gets an online loyalty account. In their accounts, they can manage loyalty points and referral rewards. Points can be redeemed on a phone in a store after a store admin enters a PIN or online at checkout. Points from all suppliers on Webo can be consolidated, and the Webo Points Bank funds redemption. Buyers can also hand a supplier their Webo loyalty card, which, when scanned, opens their online account on the handset of a supplier. 
 
In addition, buyers can register their interest in Info updates posted by suppliers, supplier deals, specials and classifieds by selected location (country, state, city, postal code or business name). When a supplier posts new info, deals, specials or classifieds, the buyer gets alerted via e-mail. Suppliers (in the selected category) are alerted that buyer demand has been registered and that any biz page updates, deals, specials or classifieds they post will be included in buyer alerts. 
 
Please also note that Webo Differs from Google in that Directory Search is driven by location (country, state/province, city postal code). We first localise the internet and then filter by local category, subcategory and micro category. In addition, our Advanced Search also offers Keyword Search and more. We, however, offer our software and checkout for use by suppliers to trade in their names. We also offer free About Us Biz Pages and Product Showcases. The trend to marketplace marketing, without owning the inventory, is growing; consider the following:
 
  • Etsy: Etsy is a platform that connects buyers and sellers of handmade, vintage, and craft supplies. Etsy does not own any products listed on its site but charges a listing fee and a commission fee for each transaction.
  • Expedia: Expedia is a travel booking site that offers flights, hotels, car rentals, and vacation packages. Expedia does not own any travel services it sells but acts as an intermediary between travellers and travel providers.
  • Netflix: Netflix is a streaming service that offers movies, TV shows, documentaries, and original content. Netflix does not own all of the content it streams but licenses it from studios, networks, and other content creators.
  • Spotify is a music streaming service offering millions of songs, podcasts, and playlists. Spotify does not own any piece it streams but pays artists, labels, and publishers royalties.
  • Zalando: Zalando is an online fashion retailer that sells clothing, shoes, accessories, and beauty products. Zalando does not own any of its products but works with over 2,000 brands and suppliers who ship the products directly to customers.
 
These are just some examples of online marketplaces with eCommerce systems that operate without owning the inventory they sell. They all have different business models and strategies. In general, they share a common strategy: to retail products and services to customers without dealing with the costs and risks of inventory management. We do not suggest that you do not consider this option; we do suggest that you optimise your income by establishing multiple income streams.
